Verify the supplier before you send money
Factory Audit in China
Is this factory real, and is it what the paperwork says?
From $299 per single visit
What this service answers
A factory audit answers one question: is the business you are about to pay the business that will actually make your product? We go to the address on your contract, compare it with the licence, the shop floor and the story you were sold, and photograph everything we see.
It is not a background check and it is not a certification. It is a physical verification, written up in English, that tells you what is real, what is claimed and what needs a second look before you wire a deposit.
What we check on site
The checklist is agreed before the visit. If your customer or your own QC team requires additional points, send them with the inquiry and they become part of the scope.
- 01Business licence, legal name, registered address and scope of business
- 02Whether the visit address matches the registered and contracted address
- 03Workshop, warehouse, machinery and the condition of the equipment
- 04Production lines and monthly capacity against the order you are placing
- 05Quality control: incoming checks, in-line checks, final inspection and records
- 06Who runs production and who signs off quality on the floor
- 07Sample room, existing product range and export packaging
- 08Red flags: dormant lines, shared premises, no experience in your product category
When to book this
Before a first deposit
The first payment is the moment most of the risk is created. An audit before the deposit turns an unknown supplier into a documented one.
When the details do not add up
A different address on the invoice, a website with no company name, a business licence that expires next month — we check the things that are awkward to ask.
When you were quoted by a trading company
If the seller does not make the product, the audit establishes who does, whether they are capable, and how the two are connected.
Before scaling an order
A supplier who handled 500 units may not handle 20,000. We compare the capacity claim with what the floor can support today.
Pricing for a factory audit
Starting at $299 per single visit in the main manufacturing regions. The final fee depends on the factory location, the number of man-days and how much notice you can give — and it is fixed in the quote before any work starts.
No payment is taken on this site. You send a request, we quote, and payment opens only after you accept.
Questions about this service
Is a factory audit the same as a supplier background check?
No. A background check works on paperwork and databases. An audit is a person physically standing at the address, comparing the licence, the floor and the equipment with what you were told, and photographing the difference.
Can you audit a trading company that subcontracts production?
Yes, and it is often the most useful audit. We confirm what the company itself does, whether the goods are made elsewhere, and — if the factory is disclosed — we can visit the actual production site separately.
Do you verify that ISO, CE or other certificates are genuine?
We record and photograph the certificates the factory presents, and note the issuing body and certificate number. We do not contact issuing bodies to confirm authenticity; the report tells you exactly which numbers to check with the issuer.
How long does an audit take?
Typically half a day to a full day on site, depending on the size of the premises. The report follows within 24–48 hours. A same-day summary can be sent by message if you are waiting on a deposit decision.
